About us
In 2024, the "Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools" autonomous educational organization (hereinafter referred to as the AEO) approved a new Development Strategy until 2035.
A key principle of this strategy is "Research-based development" emphasizing the importance of scientific and applied research as a central focus of the AEO’s activities.
In addition, in 2023, the AEO received accreditation as an аccreditation of the subjects of scientific and (or) scientific and technical activities, which grants the AEO several significant advantages.
The status of being a subject of scientific and/or scientific-technical activities provides the AEO with the opportunity to:
· Participate in competitions for grants and program-targeted financing of research projects;
· Participate for grant financing of the most promising projects focused on the commercialization of scientific and/or scientific-technical research results;
· be included in the list of organizations eligible for a National Subscription to Full-Text and Abstract Databases;
· undertake scientific internships within the framework of the Bolashak programme;
· nominate candidates for academic and honorary titles, personal scholarships, and departmental awards;
· present AEO employees and subject teams for industry and government awards and honorary titles in recognition of their contributions to science (e.g., "Ғылымды дамытуға сіңірген еңбегі үшін" badge of honor);
· serve as a foundation for research practice for master's students at Kazakhstani universities.
To support the sustainable functioning and effective development of the AEO, the Research department has been operating since 2015.
The department is responsible for coordinating and monitoring research activities within the AEO.
The department’s tasks include:
1. Organizing efforts to build the research capacity of AEO employees across structural divisions, subsidiaries, and branches;
2. Coordinating and conducting research in priority areas within the AEO;
3. Integrating the results of AEO scientific research into the education system of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The department collaborates closely with AEO researchers, research practitioners from the Intellectual Schools, and international partners on various research projects.
The department is also responsible for organizing and holding the annual international conference NIS Conference (formerly the International Research-to-Practice Conference of the AEO).
